Multi-generational Holidays

Many families are switching up their holiday dynamic by inviting their parents, children, and even grandchildren to join them on their adventures.

This growing trend has many benefits including shared childcare and splitting costs, but the most valuable is the quality time and memories made together as a family.  

Cath spent her childhood going on holiday to Bright with her nan and pop, once she became a parent, she wanted her children to experience the same holidays as she did when she was their age.

“Each year we book a week at The Bright Resort for my family, mum & dad, my brother and his children. It gives us all uninterrupted quality time and it’s great for all the kids to hang out with their cousins and grandparents for longer.

Mum loves spending time with the grandchildren, which means we can get away for a couple of hours to have a grown-up dinner and not have to worry about childcare or eating somewhere that the kids will like, which would not happen if we travelled just ourselves.

Making memories for the kids is important to us and we know once they’ve grown up, they’ll look back on these holidays fondly.”

Catherine is a Holiday Concepts Member who holidayed frequently at Bellbrae Country Club when her children were young and carried on the tradition with her grandchildren.

“We had many trips to Bellbrae Country Club with our children when they were young, when they grew up and had children of their own, we decided to continue the tradition. We have holidayed many times as a multi-generational family and we would recommend it to anyone! It’s great fun to get together and enjoy everyone’s company.”

Mirian and her family of twelve get together twice a year for a holiday at one of our resorts.

“My husband and I, our two sons, their partners, and six of our grandchildren enjoy two holidays a year together. Earlier this year we stayed at Lakeside Country Club and very soon we’ll be heading to Island Breeze Resort. It does take a bit of planning to round everyone up but it’s worth it to spend that quality time together and the resorts have lots to do to keep everyone entertained.”
